Joanna has a strong background in figurative and landscape painting, working in acrylics, pastels, watercolors and oils to combine them in mixed media artworks. She received her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge and also trained with nationally known artists, Michael Del Priore in portraiture, Leonard Wren in landscape painting and Gerald Brommer in collage. Joanna studied art abroad in Paris in 2000 and in Venice, Rome and Florence in 2004. In 2009, she participated in a joint artists' exhibit of American and Russia artists along with teaching workshops in Novgorod, Russia. In 2012, Joanna coordinated and instructed 2 traveling art workshops to Santa Fe, NM, and St. Augustine, FL as well as an art journal workshop in Tuscany, Italy in 2015. In Nov. 2017, she instructed an art journal workshop in Cuba. Joanna established her fine arts studio in Nokomis, Florida in 2005, giving private lessons as well as teaching classes. She recently exhibited her artworks in New York, NY, Berlin, Germany and London, UK and continues to participate in national juried shows. Joanna also juries shows and demonstrates nationally at watercolor conventions throughout the U.S.
